EL TEMPLO DE LA VISIÓN

SITE-SPECIFIC INTERVENTION: THE TEMPLE OF VISION

This took place in the central library of the Universidad Veracruzana. Eighteen mirrors, inscribed with the word gnosis in Braille (the language of the blind), were hung; the public had to decipher the word using the Braille alphabets that were handed out. The word gnosis etymologically signifies knowledge, but also carries philosophical and historical connotations referring to true knowledge, that is, inner knowledge... hence the mirror of knowledge that we have of ourselves when faced with our own reflection.
